Size:72×206×54（cm） Material:楡／Elm 作家プロフィール呉耀庭 Wu Yao TingYour Concept and about your art work大田原市での那須野が原国際芸術シンポジウムは私の外国での初めてのレジデンシーの経験となりました。私は本当に幸運だったと思います。それには多くの理由があります。その内の一つは、シンポジウムでの材料として石材か木材のどちらかを選ぶことが出来ました。そして木材は自分の専門なのです。二つ目の理由は、大田原の天候は大変快適でした。私たちアーティストが作品の創作をするには適切だったのです。三つ目の理由は、シンポジウムの皆さんはとても親切でした。他にも多々理由はありますが、この辺で止めておきます。何故ならば、自分がどれだけ幸運だったかを説明し続けると永遠に止まらなくなるからです！私はシンポジウムで『黒羽のしめ縄』という作品を創作しました。それは楡（ニレ）の木で出来ています。このアイディアを思い付いたのには二つの理由があります。一つは松尾芭蕉の詩からです。その詩の中で、彼は黒羽を可愛い少女に例えていました。もう一つは黒羽のある伝統的な寺にあったしめ縄からです。この作品は「あなたはもう世を去り楽園に着いたのです。」という意味を込めています。また黒羽が不思議な国であるという意味も込めています。これが私の大田原市黒羽に対する思いです。 Nasunogahara International Arts Symposium in Ohtawara was my first experience joining the residency in foreign country. I just feel very lucky. I have so many reasons for that. One of the reason was that we were able to choose a material which was either a stone or a wood in this symposium, and I'm an expert in woods. The second reason was that the weather in Ohtawara was very comfortable. It was suitable for the artists to create our works. The third reason was that everybody in the symposium was very kind. There are still many other reasons but I need to stop here. Because if I keep on explaining how lucky I was, I could never stop! In the symposium, I ceated the work named "Kurobane no Simenawa". It is made of the elm wood. There were two reasons that I came up to this idea. One was from the poem by Matsuo Basho. He compared Kurobane to a cute girl in the poem. Another was from the shimenawa (sacred rope) at this traditional temple in Kurobane. This artwork means, "You've already left the world and arrived at the paradise." It also means that Kurobane is a wonderland. That is my feeling for Kurobane in Ohtawara city.
